    Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) formerly known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) is a poorly understood condition which affects many people in the UK and across the globe is a painful and debilitating neuropathic condition that affects approximately 5% of all injuries that occur. 

    Burning Nights CRPS Support is a UK wide charity and is dedicated to raising awareness & supporting people affected by Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). As a charity we raise awareness about the condition amongst the public, health and legal professionals by providing CRPS awareness sessions so that patients can be diagnosed quicker to enable treatment to start more rapidly.

    The TR3200 height adjustable Shower Trolley is a great solution to prevent back injuries and to minimize static load and offers a safe and ergonomic working environment for the caregiver.

    The project brief set by the Firs Short Breaks Residential Centre Registered Manager, Eithne Staunton, was based on the needs of the children and young people who access the service, and consisted of the following:

    • Complete upgrade of the downstairs wash facilitates in order to achieve a safe and user-friendly bathroom area which also allows easy access for wheelchair users
    • Use of a level access shower and shower/changing platform
    • Use of a suitable wash basin which can be easily accessed and used by both mobile and wheelchair users
    • Room cover hoist system to aid staff in helping make patient transfers easy and safe
    • To include a sensory element which adds a dynamic sensory experience to bathing/ changing (such as sensory lighting)
