The Elizabeth Casson Zone returns for 2026

The Elizabeth Casson Zone returns to the Occupational Therapy Show in 2026 with a renewed focus on the Elizabeth Casson Trust's refreshed strategy, showcasing how the Trust is investing in the future of occupational therapy and advancing its charitable aim of furthering the profession.

Throughout the Zone, visitors will discover the Trust's three pillars from its new strategy: Realising the Potential of Every Occupational Therapist, by helping therapists grow in confidence, deepen their expertise and create meaningful impact; Strengthening the Profession, by promoting the unique value of occupational therapy through celebrating impact, sharing knowledge and creating opportunities to engage with new sectors and communities; and Amplifying the Trust's Influence and Reach, by building strategic connections and partnerships that amplify occupational therapy's voice and strengthen its role in society.

The Elizabeth Casson Zone will provide an engaging space for delegates to explore the opportunities the Trust offers, gain inspiration from the profession's evolving impact, and discover how these strategic priorities continue to honour Dr Elizabeth Casson's legacy by investing in therapists, strengthening the profession and ensuring occupational therapy's voice is heard where it matters most.

Further information on the Elizabeth Casson Zone will be announced soon!

Who Was Dr Elizabeth Casson?

Dr Elizabeth Casson (1881–1954) was a pioneer of occupational therapy in the UK. She became the first woman to earn a medical degree from the University of Bristol and went on to establish the Dorset House School of Occupational Therapy – the first school of its kind in the country.
