Suné van der Merwe is a dedicated advocate for marginalised communities, leveraging her expertise in occupational therapy to create positive change. With a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the European Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program and a Bachelor of Arts in Occupational Therapy from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, Suné brings a wealth of academic knowledge and practical experience to her work. At the core of Suné's work is a belief in the power of empathy, advocacy, and collaboration to drive meaningful change. She remains dedicated to fostering inclusivity and promoting social and occupational justice in her professional endeavours. Currently, she is working with Kezia Llewelyn to establish the emerging role of occupational therapy in the field of Modern-Day Slavery and Human Trafficking.
