Samantha Shann

Samantha is the Chair of the Elizabeth Casson Trust, a UK charity dedicated to advancing the occupational therapy profession and supporting the development of occupational therapists. She is also Vice Chair of the World Rehabilitation Alliance, hosted by the World Health Organization, Immediate Past President of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists, and a Board Member of the International Society of Wheelchair Professionals. These leadership roles provide her with a unique national and global perspective on occupational therapy, rehabilitation, and health systems.
Since qualifying as an occupational therapist in 1992, Samantha has worked across low-, middle-, and high-resource settings in clinical practice, education, management and leadership. She has more than 25 years' experience leading service, workforce, and educational development at government, institutional, and service levels, with particular expertise in rehabilitation and organisational change.
Samantha is also a Director of The Occupational Therapy Service, an independent UK-wide occupational therapy service, where she provides clinical expertise, training and consultancy services. As an internationally recognised speaker, she is passionate about workforce development, advocacy, leadership, mentoring and strengthening access to high-quality occupational therapy.
