Sadie Charlton
Specialist Occupational Therapist,
NHS
Sadie Charlton is a neurodivergent occupational therapist working within an NHS children's sensory pathway and as Clinical Director of SensoryPie.
Her professional experience spans CAMHS, the voluntary sector, Virtual School and NHS services, giving her a broad perspective on the barriers children and young people experience in accessing education and everyday participation.
Alongside her clinical work, Sadie has developed sensory participation toolkits, accessible educational resources and training programmes for schools and local authorities. More recently, she has been supporting the rollout of Experts at Hand, helping translate occupational therapy principles into practical, sustainable whole-school approaches.
Drawing on both professional and lived experience, Sadie champions universal approaches to inclusion that consider the everyday routines, environments and expectations shaping children's participation. She is particularly passionate about helping schools move beyond individualised strategies to create predictable, sensory-informed environments where participation and belonging are embedded into everyday school life.
