Occupational Therapist and Clinical Quality Lead, Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust
Rose Aknai is a highly experienced Occupational Therapist with over 30 years experience in community and inpatient settings. Within statutory services, Rose has had the privilege of working both as a clinician and therapy OT lead, supporting individuals of all ages in regaining their independence and achieving their personal goals. Her career has been driven by a deep commitment to empowering others, whether through hands-on therapy or leading teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. Within independent practice, Rose has worked in a medico-legal setting as a case manager working with individuals who have suffered catastrophic and life changing injuries, to take back their independence and work towards their life aspirations and goals. Her current role in Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) is as an OT within the Clinical Quality team. The role is both varied and rewarding, Rose collaborates with multiple services to ensure the delivery of outstanding patient care through quality assurance and continuous quality improvement. From leading impactful projects like the Plus Size Project to identifying themes for improvement and embedding them across services, Rose is passionate about driving positive change. her work also focuses on aligning services with national priorities, including learning and development, data, and policy work, and enhancing patient experience and safety. In addition to the Quality Improvement work, Rose provides clinical Supervision for senior OT staff and mentoring for more junior OT staff. Whether working directly with patients or supporting fellow nurses, medics or Allied Health Professionals, her approach is to inspire growth, independence and confidence.
