Phil is the founder and creator behind Phil-e-Slide, a hands-on specialist in designing safer, smarter slide systems for patient handling, with both a background in engineering and ergonomics and over two decades working alongside frontline carers and therapists.
Through a combination of practical ingenuity with a deep respect for the body’s mechanics, he is driven by the everyday challenges of real-world care - fragile skin, staff strain and inconsistent patient positioning practices.
His work challenges the standard assumptions behind comfort, safety and “best practice”, using real-life testing, feedback from care teams, and a systems-based view of tissue protection.
