Laurie has worked as a qualified occupational therapist for almost two and a half years. During this time, they worked as a band 5 within forensic mental health settings for low secure male and medium secure female patients. The role within this setting was focused on routine, risk management, developing meaningful occupations, skill building and community re-integration. Laurie now works as a band 6 occupational therapist in a residential college for students with Autism and/or a learning disability. The role within this setting is focused on sensory processing, routine, accessing education, aids and adaptation provision with a focus on developing on task performance and independence skills.
