Kate is a Consultant Occupational Therapist with over 38 years of NHS experience. She played a key role in developing and implementing the Lancashire and South Cumbria Perinatal Mental Health Service and has a longstanding interest in supporting women and families during the perinatal period. Kate advocates for the recognition of parenting and everyday occupations as important elements of recovery and wellbeing. She is the voluntary Co-Professional Lead for Perinatal Mental Health at the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and has published and presented nationally on occupational therapy in perinatal mental health. She is currently collaborating with the University of Lancashire on research exploring occupational therapy interventions for women experiencing perinatal mental illness, helping to strengthen the evidence base and inform future service development
