Jill trained at St Loye's School of Occupational Therapy, graduating in 1993, and went on to spend 18 years working across NHS Mental Health Services, in Community Mental Health Teams and specialist units including Eating Disorders, Forensic, Addictions, Older Adults, and General Psychiatry. In 2017 she trained as a Life Coach to complement her clinical practice, and in 2019 she co-founded Purpose People Ltd alongside her business partner, Nicky Green. Under Jill's leadership, Purpose People has grown to become the only private mental health practice in the UK built entirely around Occupational Therapy, with a team of 35 OTs and OT Assistants delivering clinical care across London and the Home Counties. Jill is the RCOT Mental Health Network Lead and a passionate advocate for the role of Occupational Therapy in mental health recovery. In 2022, she delivered a TEDx talk, The Hidden Magic of OT, making the case for the profession to a public audience. She has since delivered numerous talks and workshops to OTs themselves, teaching them how to craft their own elevator speech and talk about Occupational Therapy in a way that others can genuinely understand.
