Jacqueline Gordon

Clinical Fellow in Sustainability, Great Ormond Street Hospital/Sussex NHS ICB
Jacqueline started a secondment to a Clinical Fellowship in Sustainability in September 2023. After working with children and young people for many years in hospitals, the community, mainstream and special schools she understands the challenges of the NHS from community and acute perspectives. Jacqueline volunteered as a Green Champion which led to her being elected as a hospital Governor on a sustainability platform. As an Occupational Therapist with Sustainability in mind she has supported staff to make changes in clinical practice, highlighted the need for sustainability in projects for students and as part of staff appraisals and presented at conferences on her successful project to promote the use of period pants for greater dignity, independence and quality of care for patients. Jacqueline believes that as occupational therapists we are ideally placed to support the changes necessary to make healthcare more environmentally sustainable.
