Jacqueline Gordon
Occupational Therapist / Clinical Sustainability Manager,
Care without Carbon Sussex Community NHS Trust
As an Occupational Therapist for many years in social care, acute hospitals including ICU and NICU as well as the community and schools Jacqueline understands the challenges clinicians face in many areas. Working towards a better, fairer future for everyone with environmental Sustainability in mind, she has supported staff to make changes in clinical practice, highlighted the need for sustainability in projects for students and as part of staff appraisals. Jackie spent a year as one of the Chief Sustainability Officer's Clinical Fellows and now works as a clinical sustainability manager in Sussex as well as still working as an OT with children in the community in East London. Jacqueline believes that as occupational therapists we are ideally placed to effectively embed environmental sustainability within our practice in all areas from prevention and social prescribing, to more effective use of equipment and adaptations. She was a Staff Governor at GOSH, elected on a sustainability agenda and as an elected member of the Board of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists she is keen to hear your views - how should your professional organisation drive forward this agenda in a way that matters to you?
