Senior Occupational Therapist - Enablement Service, Lancashire County Council
Caroline has worked for 21 years within local authority Adult Social Care, in a range of services including Adult Learning Disabilities, Supported Employment and Occupational Therapy. Qualifying as a mature student whilst working for Bury MBC's Community Occupational Therapy team, Caroline has progressed to working for Lancashire County Council, where she is employed as Senior Occupational Therapist on the Enablement Service. The Enablement Service was launched in 2018 as part of the Passport to Independence programme and Caroline was tasked with developing and implementing the Occupational Therapy role within the service. The service aims to enable individuals with a social care need to develop independence in a range areas over a 12 week period. This is achieved by developing and implementing a person centred, strength based graded approach, with the use of equipment, adaptations and assistive technology where needed.
