Celebrating the past, inspiring the future: the Elizabeth Casson Trust Feature Zone returns
Following the success of its debut at the Occupational Therapy Show in 2025, the Elizabeth Casson Trust Feature Zone returns to the show this November, continuing a partnership that feels particularly fitting for an event dedicated to celebrating, supporting and advancing occupational therapy.
Last year, the Feature Zone gave visitors the opportunity to discover more about the remarkable life and legacy of Dr Elizabeth Casson, while experiencing the work of the Trust and its commitment to supporting the profession. It proved to be a popular addition to the show, with delegates particularly enjoying the opportunity to explore occupational therapy history, take part in interactive activities and reflect on the impact of occupational therapy.
For 2026, the Zone builds on that success, with a renewed focus reflecting the Elizabeth Casson Trust’s strategic priorities and its ambition to invest in the future of occupational therapy.
The Elizabeth Casson Zone will provide an engaging space for delegates to explore the opportunities the Trust offers, gain inspiration from the profession’s evolving impact, and discover how these strategic priorities continue to honour Dr Elizabeth Casson’s legacy – by investing in therapists, strengthening the profession and ensuring occupational therapy’s voice is heard where it matters most.
Dr Elizabeth Casson’s legacy is particularly significant. A pioneer of occupational therapy in the UK, she established the Dorset House School of Occupational Therapy – the first school of its kind in the country – driven by her belief in the healing power of occupation.
We are delighted to welcome the Elizabeth Casson Trust back for a second year. The partnership brings something genuinely distinctive to the Occupational Therapy Show: a chance not only to look at where the profession has come from, but to think about where it can go next.
Make sure you visit the Elizabeth Casson Trust Feature Zone at the Occupational Therapy Show, 25–26 November at the NEC Birmingham.
