The role of Occupational Therapy in the treatment of adults with eating disorders is one which has evolved and at times, been lost over the years. This presentation aims to firstly examine our understanding of eating disorders and then provide a general synopsis of the role of Occupational Therapy in this field. We will then specifically explore the role of the profession in eating disorders, analysing the strengths and limitations of the profession within contemporary practice.
