Burnout is the physical, mental and emotional exhaustion which is caused by an individual enduring a protracted period of exposure to highly emotive or stressful stimuli (Gupta et al, 2012). Rupert will be describing his own personal experience of burnout, the lessons he personally has learnt from this experience and will make recommendations for consideration for occupational therapists at all stages of their occupational therapy journey.
