How being in paediatric services has inspired me to go into occupational therapy. This will lead onto my experiences as a disabled occupational therapy student and how my blog ‘Not So Terrible Palsy’ has helped me to makes sense of my journey. The telling of my life as a disabled occupational therapy student will explore the highs and lows that I encountered. I will discuss how I have used my disability as a tool during my studies. As well as discussing both the external and internal ableism that I have faced in practice. I will then draw upon on my current experiences as a new disabled occupational therapy graduate discussing the ableism I have faced when it comes to finding an accessible job. I will end on my future hopes for my journey within the profession and how I as a disabled person intend to navigate this.
