Accepting responsibility: Equality, diversity and inclusivity: the foundation of good
24 Nov 2021
Promoting and sustaining equality, diversity and inclusion tends to vary inversely with the need for it to redress systemic inequalities for population(s) who are disproportionately most affected. Diversity and Inclusion has become big business, however similar to the inverse care law, diversity and inclusion currently operates more completely where systemic inequalities are most exposed to market forces, and less to where such exposure is reduced. The Coronavirus pandemic has had a profound impact on people’s health. Its unintended consequences have exposed, posed and intensified significant ongoing challenges, while creating new ones. We now have a great opportunity to promote true, authentic, sustainable equity, diversity and inclusion that redresses systemic inequalities for those in our societies that are most affected. Accepting collective responsibility for promoting equality, diversity and inclusion enables us to lift up the banner of humanity in laying the foundations for good.
