A key part of occupational therapy is understanding people as whole, including what gives them purpose, what is important to them and why they make the decisions that they choose. However, to understand people truly holistically, we need to look at the influence societal perceptions such as stigma can have on the individuals with whom we work.
- - How can we have open and honest
- conversations with people experiencing
- stigma.
- - How can we contribute to building a
- society
- without stigma.
- - The contribution stigma plays on the
- decisions people make when recovering
- from drugs and alcohol.
