As occupational therapists, we understand the importance of engagement in meaningful activity and that occupational balance is essential for achieving positive health and well-being outcomes for clients. However, often within occupational therapy roles there is a focus on the self-care and productivity occupational domains, due to influences such as service directives or pressures with time resources. It is important as occupational therapists and occupational therapy service providers that we recognise the place and value of leisure activities. If we are to enable positive health and well-being outcomes for our clients, we must ensure we are working holistically and enable access to meaningful activities across all occupational domains.
