Reflecting on personal lived experience of being a young carer to her brain injured father, and drawing on professional experience of working as an OT with children and adults with brain injury, this presentation will explore the heartache that brain injury causes and the hope and progress that OT’s can help embed. Using reflections from families of people with acquired injury, this presentation will reflect on how it feels to support a family member through brain and how the OT role can help foster hope for people living with and supporting those with brain injury.
