The neonatal landscape in the UK has changed rapidly over the past few years, with significant investment into Neonatal AHP services. Neonatal OT was previously a niche area of practice. There are now growing opportunities to practice in this exciting field, allowing occupational therapists to adopt a preventative approach by offering early intervention to provide the very best outcomes for babies and their families. This presentation provides an overview of what neonatal occupational therapy looks like and highlights the transferable skills occupational therapists have to ‘start at the beginning’.
