Empowering occupational therapists to lead change through physical activity
In light of recent policy guidance such as the NHS 10 Year Plan, occupational therapists need to position themselves to deliver preventative care. But how? In this session, we demonstrate occupational therapists are already promoting health through physical activity in our everyday practice – because we focus on meaningful occupations which involve movement. Want to hear more, and get access to resources to support your practice to include physical activity? Come along to this session, which is supported by the Elizabeth Casson Trust, and find out more about resources we’re creating to empower occupational therapists to promote health and wellbeing in their practice.
- Occupational therapists and OT students will leave the session knowing that physical activity is part of their everyday practice, and important as part of the prevention agenda.
- We will showcase how OT leadership across systems creates lasting change in how physical activity is understood and applied.
- We will share resources which support future and current OTs to use physical activity as a therapeutic tool, promoting health, inclusion, and occupational justice.
