This session will reflect on the importance of different types of clinical reasoning, from diagnostic, scientific, pragmatic and experiential, in order to make robust and evidence based recommendations for adaptations. Following a brief summary of condition specific activity analysis and potential impact on occupational performance, the session focuses on the home environment and the impact on dignity, safety and ability to maximise independence or disable in equal measure.
- •Review of condition specific presentations, including MS, Parkinson’s, MND and dementia
- •Reflection on the impact of the environment specific to the above conditions
- •Discussion about potential adaptations to support dignity, safety and maximise independence
- •Challenge application of legislation and guidance, including NICE guidelines and DFG
