Talking crap: having frank and sensitive discussions about toileting needs
How we identify specifically what element of toileting someone is having a problem with so that we can be sure we are providing the right solution. Often someone tells us they are having difficulty but not sure how much detail we go into because talking about wiping your bottom can be difficult. Linked with that, how we then prepare someone for what it feels like to have a spurt of water shot up your bum which can be challenging for some people e.g. if they have dementia or a learning disability as it is harder to prepare them. So it was about having the right language and approach and from that a good activity analyis to get to the bottom of the issue.
