Driving Mobility is a national charity that accredits a network of independent mobility centres across the UK. Qualified clinicians, primarily occupational therapists and approved driving instructors (ADIs), conduct comprehensive driving and mobility assessments at each centre. These assessments evaluate an individual’s physical, cognitive, and visual abilities and may include both clinical screening and a practical on-road assessment in a dual-controlled vehicle. Recommendations are evidence-based and designed to support independence while maintaining public safety.
Referrals are accepted from healthcare professionals, the DVLA, Motability, the police, and directly from members of the public. Each referral is reviewed to ensure the most suitable assessment pathway.
