Pioneering care for adults with acquired brain injury and learning disabilities
Directors and owners of Richardson Care, Laura and Greg Richardson-Cheater, talk about their pioneering approach to specialist care. Richardson Care was founded in 1989 by Laura's parents, Brian & Jackie Richardson. At that time it was unusual to have such a person-centred approach to caring for people with learning disabilities, acquired brain injury and complex needs. They wanted the people in their care to engage in community activities and have more choice about how they lived their lives. This continues today and there is very much a family atmosphere within the homes.
Richardson Care has six specialist homes in Northampton, which offer residential care and rehabilitation for adults with acquired brain injury or learning disabilities and complex needs.
