Mobility aid specialist Urathon will be at this November’s Occupational Therapy Show, sharing its latest products designed to support Community Equipment Stores (CES) and practitioners’ patients across the UK.

As a designer and manufacturer that produces its range at its own dedicated factory in China, Urathon maintains close oversight over quality and supply chain. To help local stores keep up with demand, the team have recently expanded their UK warehousing capacity by 50%. This extra space enables Urathon to be even more responsive to demands for new stock.

Direct feedback from occupational therapists continues to play a central role in how Urathon refines its range. For example, following input from OTs, the RS4 people-mover now features a lower footplate and height-adjustable seat, to make transfers smoother and more comfortable.

Among the products showcased alongside the RS4, will be a wide range of people-movers, commodes, shower stools and shower chairs. Urathon recently donated two shower chairs – one standard size, one bariatric - to London-based charity, Aquatic Rehabilitation Exercise Academy.

Sustainability and thoughtful design also feature heavily in Urathon's latest updates. The company is actively reducing plastic waste by moving towards paper and cardboard packaging. It has also introduced a more durable, rust-resistant coating for its shower chairs and stools, helping equipment last longer.

These updates follow a busy year for Urathon, which recently earned Great Place to Work recognition, renewed its ISO 9001 accreditation, and is well on its way to achieving ISO 14001 certification.
