Urathon to showcase OT-inspired mobility aids at Occupational Therapy Show
Urathon – which has its own manufacturing facility in China and sources additional equipment from trusted partners – believes the event is a vital opportunity to listen to the profession, gathering essential feedback from OTs which it then uses to refine and modify its product range.
Lucy Carson, Urathon’s Managing Director, said: “We love coming to the show and meeting and chatting to OTs and other professionals who attend. They are best placed to know exactly what patients need in terms of moving and handling, bathing and showering, and daily living aids. We listen to their feedback and strive to provide exactly the right products.”
Urathon products are well utilised in community equipment stores across the UK, and the company also partners with community equipment organisations such as Medequip.
Key to Urathon’s success is its responsiveness to therapy professionals, while also focusing on high quality affordable products. Rather than designing in a vacuum, the team actively seek OT and user input to refine and improve.
A prime example is Urathon’s RS4 wheeled transfer aid, developed to promote independence and mobilisation for patients who can bear some weight. Already well received in the market, Urathon is working closely with clinicians, OTs and their partners to further improve the design of the RS4 with new features and a revised base with improved fit under a greater variety of chairs. Similarly, Urathon’s aluminium shower commode chair range has been designed and manufactured with significant professional consultation to ensure it meets the rigorous demands of daily hygiene routines.
As a member of the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) with ISO 9001 accreditation, Urathon continues to prioritise safety and standardised excellence. For OTs attending the show, the Urathon stand offers a chance to see these modifications firsthand and influence the future of equipment design.
