Tierco Healthcare Group Celebrates Landmark Success of Inaugural 24-Hour Postural Care Conference
Centred around the theme "24-Hour Postural Care – From the Cradle to the Grave," the conference explored how posture influences health, function, participation and dignity throughout life. Delegates heard from an outstanding line-up of internationally respected speakers representing clinical practice, academia, law, policy, advocacy and lived experience, creating meaningful conversations that challenged thinking and inspired change.
The programme covered a broad spectrum of topics, including postural care across the lifespan, avoidable harm, supported lying and night-time positioning, legal responsibilities surrounding consent, therapeutic seating, standing, respiratory health, spasticity management, proportionate care and the implementation of postural care pathways. The conference also featured practical parallel sessions, enabling delegates to tailor their learning to their areas of practice.
A particular highlight was the diversity of perspectives shared throughout the day. Alongside internationally recognised clinicians, attendees heard from caregivers, advocates and individuals with lived experience, reinforcing that successful postural care extends far beyond equipment alone and requires collaboration, communication and person-centred practice.
Managing Director of Tierco Healthcare Group, Martin Tierney, welcomed delegates by reflecting on the significance of the event.
"Our inaugural 24-Hour Postural Care Conference represents far more than a single day of education. It reflects Tierco Healthcare Group's commitment to bringing together clinical expertise, innovation and collaboration to improve outcomes for people who rely on effective postural care throughout their lives. Seeing professionals from so many disciplines learning together has been incredibly inspiring, and we are proud that A1 Momentum, Posicare and Seating Matters could unite under one vision to deliver this landmark event."
The conference also highlighted the unique strengths of each Tierco Healthcare company.
Seating Matters shared the latest clinical evidence surrounding therapeutic seating and dementia care, demonstrating how appropriate seating can improve posture, comfort, participation and reduce avoidable complications.
Posicare by Seating Matters showcased its specialist toileting and showering solutions, emphasising the vital role hygiene, dignity and safe care play within a comprehensive 24-hour postural care pathway.
A1 Momentum reinforced the importance of education and competence through specialist training in manual handling, risk assessment and proportionate care, empowering healthcare professionals to deliver safer, more person-centred practice.
The event was delivered in collaboration with internationally respected postural care specialists Simple Stuff Works, whose expertise helped shape the programme alongside a faculty of renowned speakers including Jenny Miller, Sarah Clayton, Lauren Sutherland KC, Rachel Wright, Sudhakar Sharma, Karen Howarth, Kirsty Ryan, Katrina Stafford, Jamie Mooney, Donna Smalley, Tracey Barningham and many others.
Throughout the day, delegates repeatedly highlighted the value of bringing together education, equipment manufacturers, clinicians and lived experience in one place. The atmosphere encouraged discussion, networking and knowledge sharing, with many describing the conference as an opportunity to rethink current practice and return to their organisations with practical ideas to implement immediately.
The conference forms part of Tierco Healthcare Group's wider commitment to advancing healthcare through evidence-based education, clinical innovation and collaboration across its growing family of specialist healthcare companies.
