STEPS Inclusive Design Achieves ISO 9001 Certification
STEPS Inclusive Design achieves ISO 9001 certification, independently assessed by ISOQAR and accredited by UKAS, recognising our commitment to quality management and continuous improvement.
STEPS Inclusive Design has achieved ISO 9001 certification, an internationally recognised standard for quality management. This milestone reflects our commitment to consistent processes, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement throughout our design, development and business operations.

STEPS Inclusive Design is proud to announce that we have successfully achieved ISO 9001 certification, the world’s leading standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS).

This significant milestone demonstrates our commitment to delivering the highest standards of quality across our business. ISO 9001 certification reflects our dedication to customer satisfaction, continual improvement, and the implementation of robust, effective processes that support the products and services we deliver.

What is ISO 9001?

ISO 9001 is an internationally recognised quality management standard that provides a framework for organisations to consistently deliver products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Achieving certification demonstrates that STEPS Inclusive Design has established documented and controlled processes that promote consistency, accountability, and continual improvement across the organisation.

The standard focuses on key principles including:

  • Customer satisfaction
  • Risk management
  • Continuous improvement
  • Effective process control
  • Leadership and accountability
  • Evidence-based decision making

Meeting these rigorous standards reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable, and customer-focused products and services.

What This Means for Our Customers

Toby Chan, Head of Design at STEPS Inclusive Design, said: “For us, achieving ISO 9001 is about demonstrating that we don’t just design great products; we have the processes, controls and systems in place to ensure they are developed to the highest standards. This is especially important when developing medical devices and other products where quality, safety and traceability are critical.”

ISO 9001 certification provides independent assurance that STEPS Inclusive Design operates within a recognised framework for quality management and continual improvement.

Benefits for our customers include:

  • Greater trust in our products and services
  • Consistent design and manufacturing processes
  • Improved material traceability throughout product development and manufacturing
  • Robust supplier evaluation and management
  • Ongoing monitoring and improvement of performance
  • Reliable documentation and quality records
  • Products designed with safety, usability, and accessibility at their core

Toby Chan added: “This certification provides independent recognition of the systems and controls that underpin every stage of our design and development process, giving customers and partners additional assurance in the quality of our work.”

A Commitment to Continuous Improvement

Achieving ISO 9001 certification is a significant milestone, but it is only one part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.

We will continue to review, refine, and enhance our processes to ensure we consistently deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers and stakeholders.
