Closomat has launched Pathway 1.0, a new clinical specification tool designed to help occupational therapists assess, specify and recommend appropriate bathroom and toileting equipment more efficiently while keeping clinical judgement firmly at the centre of decision making.

With growing caseloads, workforce pressures and increasing administrative demands, occupational therapists are spending more time on paperwork and less on patient care. Developed with guidance from The Occupational Therapy Service, Pathway 1.0 provides a structured, evidence-informed framework that supports consistent and robust equipment recommendations.

The digital tool guides clinicians through a series of questions covering an individual's functional abilities, clinical presentation, home environment and toileting needs. Based on these responses, it recommends an appropriate Closomat solution and generates a tailored specification, including product configuration and an indicative budget estimate to support funding applications, commissioning discussions and installation planning.

Pathway 1.0 is designed to help therapists reduce time spent researching equipment, improve consistency in recommendations and produce clear, evidence-based specifications, allowing more time to focus on improving patient outcomes.
