Accessible Showering that Adapts to the Individual

Horne Stand: J50
Accessible Showering that Adapts to the Individual
Low-torque, low-grip Inclusive-Design shower lever controls
From disability bathroom adaptations to Changing Places facilities, accessible showering must accommodate diverse physical and sensory needs. Horne’s Inclusive Design showers combine practical accessibility features with safe thermostatic control to support independence, comfort and dignity.
Accessible showering is rarely about one feature or one type of user. Whether planning a disability bathroom adaptation, Changing Places facility or accessible shower room, the aim is to create an environment that works around the individual – supporting independence where possible and making assisted showering easier where required.

Horne’s Inclusive Design thermostatic shower panels bring together practical features addressing mobility, dexterity, reach and visual accessibility.

BS 8300 compliant lever controls require minimal grip for straightforward flow and temperature adjustment, while the easy-adjust handset holder allows the shower position to be altered with little effort. For seated users or those with limited reach, a pull-tab Release Extender helps bring a handset positioned higher on the rail within easier reach.

The combined riser/grab rail provides 1000mm of handset adjustment to accommodate seated and standing showering. It is available in white/grey or high-contrast deep-orange/grey, helping users with visual impairment or reduced contrast sensitivity to identify the rail more readily. Coordinating 600mm support grab rails are also available.

User comfort matters too. Regulated, conditioned flow provides a comfortable, therapeutic shower without an overwhelming spray, while Horne’s Healthcare-approved thermostatic technology maintains safe water temperatures.

Pre-plumbed within a robust surface-mounted panel, the shower is also designed with practical installation, servicing and long-term maintenance in mind.
