Transforming clinical practice for people, services and planet

26 Nov 2026
Keynote Theatre
Sustainablity
Using real life examples, research and case studies this session will explore how to work more sustainably without adding extra work. You will understand where to find support and resources and crucially how to measure the outcomes for patients, staff and planet.

The impact of changes in climate on individuals, services and systems is affecting us all and all areas of occupation. 95% of OTs surveyed want to be sustainable at work but don’t have the time or knowledge about how to do this.

Occupational Therapists know that small changes can have big consequences. By embedding environmental sustainability in our clinical reasoning, we can demonstrate our key role in this area. Whether supporting skill building, adapting property, using nature-based interventions or social prescribing all contribute to a more liveable future.
