OT anywhere: you don't need permission to practise outdoors

26 Nov 2026
Theatre 2
Children and young people

What if the biggest barrier to outdoor occupational therapy isn't a lack of training, but a lack of confidence? Occupational therapists are often told, explicitly or implicitly, that they need specialist qualifications before they can take their practice outdoors. This session challenges that assumption and asks what happens when we start with what we already know as occupational therapists. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for considering their own practice outdoors, greater confidence in their existing professional skills, and a clear starting point for taking occupational therapy beyond the traditional four walls.
