Supporting healthy working lives: our role as occupational therapists

26 Nov 2026
Showcase Theatre

OT's play a critical role in helping people living with disabilities or health conditions to continue with the occupations that they value, want, or need to do. For working age adults, a central occupation is paid employment but more and more people are at risk of dropping out of the workforce. Increasingly this is due to a combination of mental and physical health and environmental challenges. This session explores:

  1.  RCOT's vision for occupational therapy in supporting people to enter, remain in and return to work.
  2.  Why this is a priority and an opportunity for the profession.
  3. What we need to do now and in the future to meet this growing population health need.
