From bed to chair – how innovation in clinical seating can assist with early mobilisation and rehabilitation.
Martina Tierney is an Occupational Therapist with over 30 years’ wide-ranging experience including acute, mental health, rehabilitation, care in the community and in care facilities. In this presentation, Martina looks at how clinical seating forms a key part of the rehabilitation process, helping get people out of bed, into the correct chair and into a posturally-supported seating position.
As founder and Clinical Director of Seating Matters, for many years Martina has studied the benefits of postural support and has designed clinical therapeutic seating which continue to transform patient lives daily. These include the well-known Phoenix, Sorrento and Milano chairs and the recently launched Sydney GoFlat chair.
Martina is author of the globally renowned Clincian’s Seating Handbook with over 250,000 copies in circulation. All attendees of this presentation will be given a complimentary copy of this important seating resource which includes practical templates and useful patient case studies.
