Introducing AMPS into Adult Social Care

23 Nov 2022
Theatre 1

In 2021 Essex County Council commissioned Assessment of Motor Process Skills (AMPS) training for a small cohort of occupational therapists as part of a trial to establish the clinical and professional benefits of using AMPS within adult social care.  This presentation explores the reasoning behind introducing AMPS into the service, highlights issues that were encountered along the way and reviews some of the outcomes that have been achieved from using the tool.  The session also considers some of the technical elements of the tool and how they can be used to evidence motor processing abilities in the assessment process.

Speakers
Guy Montague-Smith, Team Manager Local Linked Support Team - Essex County Council
Fay Caldwell, Senior Occupational Therapist - South Essex County Council
