Visual Perception Difficulties after a Brain Injury

In the session, I will discuss how knowledge of the hierarchical visual system can help to understand the main visual perception impairments. Further, I will summarise the evidence on assessment methods for visual perceptual impairments and share research findings from novel assessments that are more time efficient. Following an introduction and discussion of existing evidence on assessment, we aim to demonstrate a new 15-minute evidence-based screening tool for visual perception difficulties after brain injury. At the end of the session, participants will be given a link for free access to the tool.
