I tic, therefore I am: An occupational exploration of Tourette Syndrome

Tourette syndrome (TS) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition which impacts 300,000 people in the UK, and 1% of the international population. Despite this, we have a long way to go until the public and professional understanding of TS reaches the status of comparable neurodivergent diagnoses. Using lived experience as an occupational therapist with TS, I will explore the barriers individuals with this condition face to engaging safely and effectively with the world around them and explore what we can do to improve healthcare access and outcomes for this population.
