The impact of traumatic experiences can be profound, not always obvious and often not related to one specific event. In all settings Occupational Therapists will be working with people whose histories contain neglect, abandonment and abuse. This session explores common responses to traumatic experiences and how occupational therapists can sensitively create narratives that empathically explain peoples difficulties.
- Participants will:
- Gain an understanding of the prevalence of trauma in society
- Explore the impact of trauma on peoples lives
- Be able to describe the impact in terms of MOHO
